Please join us for a day of community engagement and exciting activities at the Virginia Tech Police Department's annual Community Day event.

Date: Saturday, Sept. 23
Time: 10:00 a.m. - 3:00 p.m.
Location: The Drillfield

Highlights of the day include:

  • K-9 Demonstrations: Witness the skills of our K-9 teams.
  • Doughnut-Eating Challenge: Test your doughnut-eating abilities in a friendly competition.
  • Dunk-A-Police Officer: Try your hand at dunking a police officer in an exhilarating game.

In addition to these exciting activities, our dedicated Virginia Tech Rescue Squad will collaborate with the Virginia Tech Police Department, Blacksburg Fire, Christiansburg Police Department, Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office, and Lifeguard in a mock DUI simulation, providing real-life insight into the dangers of drunk driving starting at 11 a.m.

This free event is open to students, employees, the public, and their families. It's an excellent opportunity to gain insights into our nationally accredited police department. Activities for all ages include trying on a pair of drunk goggles to learn about the dangers of alcohol over-consumption, driving the Virginia State Police DUI Simulator, interacting with regional SWAT Teams, touring Fire, Rescue and Police vehicles, and so much more!

Make sure not to miss the opportunity to enjoy delicious free food, listen to great music, and meet your local first responders!
