Blacksburg Transit route changes for Thursday's football game against Syracuse University

In anticipation of the football game between Virginia Tech and Syracuse University this Thursday, Blacksburg Transit has announced the following route changes.

Detour to Cassell for drop-offs

All Blacksburg Transit buses, with the exception of TTT, will follow a detour route to Cassell Coliseum for drop-offs starting at 4:30 p.m. 

Hokie Express service modifications

Hokie Express will not service the Duck Pond lot and Smithfield Lot after 2 p.m. The decision was made in the interest of safety, as it was deemed unsafe for the buses to navigate through these lots during the tailgating activities. However, Hokie Express service will still be available at stops #1121, #1117, and #1120 located near these lots. Passengers are encouraged to plan their travel accordingly to avoid any inconveniences.

CRC service adjustments

Additionally, CRC buses will not service either stop in the Chicken Hill Lot after 2 p.m. 

Blacksburg Transit officials urge all passengers to plan their journeys ahead of time, taking these route changes into account.
