Parking permit reminders from Virginia Tech Parking and Transportation

As the academic year nears close and the busy summer construction seasons kicks into gear across campus, Virginia Tech Parking and Transportation shares the following reminders around parking permits.
Summer parking permits
Summer 2019 parking permits will go on sale May 1, 2019. Permits can be purchased on the Parking and Transportation website or in-person at 505 Beamer Way. Annual and spring 2019 parking permits are valid through August 31, 2019.
2019-20 annual parking permits
Parking permits for the 2019-20 year will go on sale for faculty/staff on July 15, 2019. Student permits will go on sale August 5, 2019. Permits can be purchased on the Parking and Transportation website or in-person at 505 Beamer Way.
Hang tag reminders
The parking permit hang tags can be displayed on the dashboard as long as permit numbers and types are visible. As stated on the back of all Virginia Tech parking permits, the parking permit hang tag must be removed from the car mirror before the vehicle is in motion.
In addition, state laws requiring drivers to yield to pedestrians in crosswalks are strictly enforced.
