Important update from Mail Services on package tracking and delivery for campus residents

To ensure timely and accurate delivery of mail and packages to campus residents, please follow the proper addressing format:

If an address is incomplete or incorrect, packages may be returned to the sender.

Due to the increasing number of packages arriving with incorrect or incomplete addresses, Mail Services will no longer check tracking numbers by email. Students must log in to the Campus Resident Portal using their university PID and password, and enter the tracking number for each package. This ensures that packages are associated with the correct student ID and can be delivered even if the package is mislabeled.

The Campus Resident Portal is a faster and automated system, and it is the only method for all package inquiries. If a package is correctly labeled and received, it will automatically appear in the portal with its current status, regardless of whether a student has entered a tracking number. However, if a package is incorrectly labeled, entering the tracking number in the portal will allow Mail Services to associate it with the student, making it viewable and trackable in the portal. Since emails will no longer be accepted for tracking inquiries, it is essential to use the portal for all package-related updates. 

Parents should send tracking information to their students, who will then need to enter it into the portal. Students can also submit a Priority Package notice for important items, such as medications and laptops, or a Standard Package notice for everyday deliveries from retailers like Amazon.

While using the portal will help resolve package issues, please ensure that letter mail is correctly addressed, as it still needs to be manually processed for delivery. Addressing all packages and mail correctly from the start is the best way to ensure timely delivery.
