Improved mail tracking for departments: What you need to know

Mail Services has announced enhanced tracking for Virginia Tech departments receiving items through the U.S. Postal Service. This includes packages and letters with barcodes, such as certified mail. Previously, a two-part form was used to capture recipient signatures when needed. Now, a Hokie Passport scan on a handheld device will digitally record the transaction. Items that do not require a signature will continue to be delivered to department mail stops as usual. Please email tracking numbers for items you're expecting or that may have already arrived, along with any questions, to departmentmail@vt.edu.

Additionally, please review your department information on the Department Mail Code list to ensure it is accurate. Email any corrections to departmentmail@vt.edu. Verifying your personal information using the Virginia Tech homepage's people search tool will help ensure proper and timely delivery. Corrections here are done through your department's Banner system.
