Tips for pedestrians navigating summer construction south of the Drillfield

From: The Division of Campus Planning, Infrastructure, and Facilities

To accommodate capital construction efforts on Slusher and War Memorial Halls along with summer improvement work occurring throughout the area south of the Drillfield, several pathways in the region will be closed to ensure pedestrian safety. Pathways closed for improvement work will open in phases as projects complete.

During this time, pedestrians may utilize alternative pathways available through the Ag Quad Parking Lot; and near Campbell, Payne, Slusher, and War Memorial Halls. Accessible pathways are available along Drillfield Drive, West Eggleston Hall, around Owens Hall, and near Payne Hall.

Directional signage will be posted to assist with navigation. Pedestrians may also utilize the Interactive Campus Map to assist with navigation.

As construction efforts progress, updates to pedestrian pathways will be communicated via Virginia Tech News.

Questions may be directed to vtfacilities@vt.edu

Pedestrian and accessible routes available in the area south of the Drillfield as of Friday, June 2.
