Zoom video storage update
From: Technology-enhanced Learning and Online Strategies
Beginning on May 18, automatic archiving of Zoom meeting videos to the video content management system was discontinued. Instead, Zoom cloud recordings are now available for sharing and downloading in Zoom for an extended period of two years. If a video owner needs to retain a video for more than two years, they can download the cloud recording and upload it to Panopto. After enabling and opening the Panopto video tool in a Canvas course, teaching-related recordings scheduled using Zoom LTI Pro will be automatically stored in Panopto, the university’s new video platform.
This change was made after careful analysis of Zoom data that shows most meeting recordings are not viewed again, and those that are viewed are rarely referenced after two years.
