Participants needed for touch perception research study
From: Department of Biomedical Engineering
Researchers in the Department of Biomedical Engineering are studying how people perceive touch (IRB #26-164). The study involves activating elbow muscles while receiving mild, non-painful electrical stimulation to the fingertips and describing the sensations.
Eligible participants must be:
- Age 18 or older
- Right-hand dominant
- Not currently pregnant
- No major arm injuries or surgeries
- No neurological or musculoskeletal disorders
- No implanted electrical devices (i.e. cardiac pacemaker)
- No uncorrected visual or auditory impairment
- No uncontrolled epilepsy or seizure disorders
Sessions will last approximately four hours. Participants will be compensated up to $100. Transportation assitance may be available.
