Participants needed for touch perception research study

Researchers in the Department of Biomedical Engineering are studying how people perceive touch (IRB #26-164). The study involves activating elbow muscles while receiving mild, non-painful electrical stimulation to the fingertips and describing the sensations.
 

Eligible participants must be:

  • Age 18 or older
  • Right-hand dominant
  • Not currently pregnant
  • No major arm injuries or surgeries
  • No neurological or musculoskeletal disorders
  • No implanted electrical devices (i.e. cardiac pacemaker)
  • No uncorrected visual or auditory impairment
  • No uncontrolled epilepsy or seizure disorders
 
Sessions will last approximately four hours. Participants will be compensated up to $100. Transportation assitance may be available.
