The Big Event is back. On April 11, join thousands of students for Virginia Tech’s largest day of service, continuing a tradition that has long defined our commitment to the New River Valley.

As the largest student-run volunteer organization at Virginia Tech, The Big Event brings students, faculty, alumni, and community members together each spring to support local homeowners and organizations in and around Blacksburg. Our work is rooted in giving back to the community that makes Virginia Tech possible, the neighbors, families, and partners who support our campus every day.

This year, we are working to expand our impact by recruiting more homeowners and reaching a record number of volunteers, allowing us to take on more projects and serve those who need it most. 

Whether you participate with friends, an organization, or on your own, your involvement helps strengthen a tradition that reflects the very best of Virginia Tech. Helping out is what Hokies do.
