Try out the Panopto video content management system
From: Technology-enhanced Learning and Online Strategies (TLOS)
The Panopto video content management system (VCMS) will replace Kaltura this year at the end of the spring semester, but users don’t have to wait to start learning about the new tool. All Virginia Tech faculty, staff, and students now have access to Panopto at virginiatech.hosted.panopto.com.
Things to note:
- Kaltura videos will be migrated to Panopto, but users won’t see their Kaltura content in Panopto yet.
- The migration of Kaltura videos has started, but video libraries won’t appear for users until later this semester when the migration is complete.
- TLOS will notify users when their migrated videos are available in Panopto.
- Feel free to use Panopto to create and host new content.
- Please do not manually migrate Kaltura content, as this will result in duplicate content once the campus-wide migration process is complete.
- Panopto workshops are available beginning in late February.
- All Summer Session 2026 Canvas courses will use Panopto for video content.
