Submit your work for 'Roots & Resettlement,' a collection of creative writing & art
From: Center for Refugee, Migrant, and Displacement Studies
The Center for Refugee, Migrant, and Displacement Studies invites creative submissions by Latine voices from across the world for Roots & Resettlement, a mixed-media digital collection exploring migration, movement, place, and belonging. We welcome essays, poems, photographs, drawings, paintings, or any other kind of art.
We welcome work engaging with experiences of Latine immigrants and children of immigrants; migration to the U.S. or elsewhere; the meaning of home; inherited or reimagined roots; and creating, finding, or refusing belonging. We are especially interested in pieces that consider how roots are carried, lost, remade, or reimagined through movement, memory, language, and community.
Submissions are welcome in English, Spanish, Indigenous languages, or any combination and may hold joy, humor, tenderness, anger, nostalgia, ambivalence, and everyday moments alongside larger narratives. Some authors may choose to publish anonymously, and we will work with you to do so.

The deadline to submit is March 15.
Please send all submissions to Deirdre Hand at dhand08@vt.edu and in the subject line, write "Roots & Resettlement Submission."
