Use Care.com during busy holiday times

The holidays are right around the corner, so you may find yourself in need of extra childcare, housekeeping, senior care, or even pet care. Using Care.com services can help you handle holiday tasks and responsibilities.

Virginia Tech full-time faculty, staff, and non-student wage employees across all locations have unlimited, premium access to the Care.com network to book short- and long-term care.

Employees can choose from a wide range of provider types including those with experience assisting children and adults with special needs, as well as pet sitters, walkers, and groomers.

Book with confidence. All caregivers interacting with families go through the Care.com Background Check (formerly CareCheck). You can check caregiver ratings and reviews, read profiles, and conduct interviews to get to know caregivers and housekeepers before you book. You are also able to post jobs, purchase additional screening, and pay caregivers in real-time through the platform.

Register with your VT email to gain access to these benefits. When asked for your PID, use the first part of your Virginia Tech email before the @ sign. For example, with the email address hbird24@vt.edu, the PID would be hbird24. Do not use your alias or your 90 number.
