New VPN tool available, Ivanti users should switch to Cisco AnyConnect VPN software prior to Dec. 31

From: Division of Information Technology

Virginia Tech users of Virtual Private Network (VPN) software should take steps to prepare for a coming shift from the Ivanti VPN (formerly, Pulse Secure) to Cisco’s VPN solution. To provide flexibility and continuity of service, both solutions will be available for use through the end of the year. Ivanti will be discontinued on Dec. 31, 2025.

The new VPN service provides a number of improvements over the previous solution. These include allowing the use of your default browser for authentication, better performance and reliability, and improved compliance with ADA regulations. Instructions for making this change are available, but please note that it's possible that your local IT office is already planning to handle this changeover for VPN users. Please check in with your local IT office to confirm which steps you will need to take.

Advanced users, including users managing host-based firewalls should consult the Knowledge Base article on Finding IP Addresses to configure their new address ranges appropriately.

Please review the following 4Help Knowledge Base articles for installation details.
