Join the Student Title IX Advisory Board
From: Office for Civil Rights Compliance and Prevention Education
The Office for Civil Rights Compliance and Prevention Education is reconvening its Student Title IX Advisory Board with a mission to continually seek to improve Virginia Tech’s Title IX process through incorporating students’ experiences, voices, and insights that are critical for our work.
The Student Title IX Advisory Board will provide critical feedback and recommendations on the university’s awareness and understanding of Title IX and its response to gender-based harassment and violence. The board will meet monthly to engage in discussion and offer insightful feedback directly to the university’s Title IX coordinator. Discussion topics may include reviews of:
- The history of Title IX and how it informs the university’s policies and procedures
- Ways to engage the student population in Title IX awareness
- Resources available to students
- The university’s communication and outreach efforts, including safe.vt.edu
We welcome participation from undergraduate, graduate, and professional students across all fields of study and experiences. Interested students should fill out a form and note available times for meetings by Sept. 10. Get more information at civilrights.vt.edu.
