Perspective Gallery's summer exhibition: 'Emerge'

From: Perspective Gallery

Perspective Gallery's summer exhibition features the work of two native Virginians, Sarah Bachman and Kaily Schenker, in their first public art show.

Bachman's mixed media paintings "document the activities and places I visit which are sources of normalcy and joy in a world tilting toward the posthuman condition." Influenced by her upbringing in Appalachia, Schenker's fiber collage and pottery is inspired by medieval art, tattoos, tarot, and the DIY culture.

The artists' work complements one another in grit and charm, accessibility, and visioning. The work invites the viewer for a deep look into places we may pass by without noticing.
