2025-26 benefits open enrollment ends Friday, May 30
From: Human Resources
Benefits open enrollment for state-provided benefits ends this Friday, May 30. The open enrollment website contains information on this year’s plan changes, important reminders, and instructions for submitting health benefits changes.
Remember:
- Employees who want to continue with a Flexible Spending Account (FSA) must re-enroll for the benefit every year.
- If employees want to begin saving money on their health insurance premiums at the beginning of the plan year, they (and their spouse, if covered on the employees’ plan) must complete their health assessment by May 30. This reward will show up first on the July 16 paycheck.
- All changes made during open enrollment are effective July 1, 2025. Employees will see deductions related to changes made during open enrollment reflected on their July 16 paycheck.
All open enrollment changes must be submitted by:
- No later than 11:59 p.m. on Friday, May 30 electronically.
- No later than 5 p.m. on Friday, May 30 if using a paper form.
Some employees have reported to HR that their marital status is incorrect in DHRM’s Cardinal system. DHRM has explained that the Cardinal system defaults all employees to single, and that this has no impact on the employees’ pre-existing benefits. Employees are encouraged to log into Cardinal and double check their dependent information even if they have no other open enrollment changes. Employees may update their marital status in Cardinal, but it has no impact on benefits eligibility.
