'Preparing for Launch: How to Prepare Yourself and Your Senior for College'

The Early Childhood Education Initiatives team is partnering with Samantha Buchanan, associate director in New Student and Family Programs, to offer a parenting program session titled “Preparing for Launch: How to Prepare Yourself and Your Senior for College.” The program will be held May 28, noon – 1 p.m. by Zoom. Sam Buchanan has worked in Virginia Tech Student Affairs for 11 years and has first-hand experience working with first-year students and their families.

The session will discuss the transition from high school to adult-college student, some of the biggest topics, celebrations, and struggles so many college students deal with in the first year. Whether it is transitioning to a tech school, community college, or university, family dynamics are bound to change! Registration is required to attend.
