Virginia Tech announces project to redesign Student Information System

The new system will replace Hokie SPA, offering an updated, user-friendly experience for new and returning students.

Virginia Tech is embarking on a major redesign of HokieSPA as part of a larger project to enhance Virginia Tech’s core business systems. This new student information system (SIS) aims to provide a more efficient and accessible system for managing student information, payments, course registration, financial aid, and other processes essential to the student experience at Virginia Tech. The redesigned SIS will offer enhanced functionality, a streamlined user experience, and the ability to access information seamlessly from any device.

"We are committed to leveraging cutting-edge technology to improve the educational experience for our community," said Rick Sparks, university registrar. "The new Student Information System will represent a significant step forward in our efforts to provide a state-of-the-art digital environment for the university community."

The transition to the new SIS is expected to be completed in the next academic year. Virginia Tech will begin sharing detailed information and guidance in fall 2025 to ensure a smooth transition for our users.
