From: Office for Civil Rights Compliance and Prevention Education

The Office for Civil Rights Compliance and Prevention Education (CRCPE) is responsible for coordinating the university’s compliance with Title VI of the Civil Rights Act of 1964 (Title VI), a federal civil rights law that prohibits discrimination on the basis of race, color, and national origin.  Consistent with the law, the university's nondiscrimination policy, Policy 1025, prohibits discrimination based on race, color, and ethnic and national origin. This means that university policy protects employees and students from being treated worse than others or denied opportunities through the university and any of its programs, services, and activities because of race, color, ethnicity and national origin. This protection applies in many different contexts, including, for example, housing, hiring, and other aspects of being a student or an employee on campus.

CRCPE strongly encourages any community member who experiences discrimination, including any form of denial of participation in any university program, on the basis of race, color, ethnicity or national origin, to report concerns to CRCPE. The team receives reports via any of the following methods:

Lastly, university policy requires administrators, supervisors, and those performing instructional or academic advising duties who learn about an incident of discrimination or harassment – whether directly or indirectly – to report the incident to CRCPE.

For more information about this requirement or to report an incident, please contact CRCPE.
