Call for Nominations: D.C. Area Staff Award 2025

We are happy to announce the call for nominations for the 2025 D.C. area Outstanding Staff Award and to let you know that we will celebrate together this year at Academic Building One in Alexandria on Thursday, May 29, 2025 (details to follow).

Each year, we honor one staff member with a cash award in recognition of achievements in service to the university through:

• Outstanding or noteworthy performance in position responsibilities or exceptional teamwork
• Commitment to the goals of the university in the greater Washington, D.C., metro area
• Exceptional service to students and faculty
• Commitment to Ut Prosim (That I May Serve) and the spirit of community, diversity,
• and excellence in support of InclusiveVT

To submit a nomination, complete the nomination form describing how your selected employee meets the criteria above. The nomination form must be accompanied by at least one and no more than three additional affirming letters from a faculty member, other staff member, or student.

Please submit the completed nomination form and letter(s) of support electronically, in one PDF, to maurag@vt.edu  by the deadline, 5 p.m. on Friday, May 9, 2025.

This year’s nominees and winner of the Outstanding Staff Award will be announced at the D.C. area Employee Appreciation event, which is currently being planned.
