Education Scholar Stefanie Marshall to give public lecture March 18
From: Department of Agricultural, Leadership, and Community Education
Stefanie Marshall, assistant professor of science education in the Department of Teacher Education at Michigan State University, will give a public lecture at 5 p.m. on Tuesday, March 18, in 1670 Litton Reaves Hall.
Her talk is titled, "What if I (We) Don't? Leading to Mobilize a Human Infrastructure for Equitable STEM Education." Supported by the Virginia Tech Office of the Associate Provost for the Arts, Diverse Voices and Perspectives Lecture Series, this lecture will be of broad interest to students, faculty, and community members.
Through case studies, Marshall will explore barriers identified by science and STEM leaders in K-12 contexts and strategies to address these barriers. Those in attendance will consider and strategize on what it will take to personally lead and mobilize a human infrastructure for equitable science education within their organization.
