Lunch and Learn for Working Parents: Community Resilience Model

From: Early Childhood Education Initiatives

Early Childhood Education Initiatives is partnering with Hokie Wellness to offer a lunch and learn workshop for parents and caregivers of children about the Community Resilience Model (CRM), a stabilization program aiming to reset the natural balance of the nervous system.

The workshop will focus on the six wellness skills of CRM, designed to help adults and children learn to track their own nervous systems in order to bring the body, mind, and spirit back into greater balance, and to encourage people to pass the skills along to others. This particular training will focus on using the skills as a caregiver for children of all ages.

This one-time session will be held Feb. 20, noon – 1 p.m., by Zoom and will be led by Erica Berry Coates, community resiliency model coordinator and embedded counselor in the College of Liberal Arts and Human Sciences, and David Andrews, associate director of employee wellness for Hokie Wellness.

Registration is required to attend.
