With the New Year here, join Hokie Wellness programs to find your balance and set your wellness goals.
Jan. 8, 1-3 p.m.: REVIVE! Opioid Overdose Emergency Response Training: Come learn more about opioids, addiction, and how to respond in an emergency. You may be eligible to receive the opioid overdose reversal drug Narcan (Naloxone) and will be given an emergency response kit to take with you free of charge. The workshop will be held in McComas Hall, room 198. Registration is required.
Jan. 10, 10:30-11:30 a.m.: Self-Care Strategies to Avoid Burnout (online): Examine strategies to engage with to recognize the psychological and physical symptoms of stress. We will also practice identifying actions to alleviate these stressors before they escalate into burnout. Registration is required.
Jan. 14, 12-1:15 p.m.: Take a Brain Break: Join Hokie Wellness for a midday brain break. Bring your lunch and make a DIY craft. Materials will be provided. The program will be held at the North End Center, room 2410. Registration is required.
Jan. 15, 11:30 a.m.-12:30 p.m.: Banking Basics and Budgeting (online): Learn more about banking basics, how to assess your budget and savings plan, and how to build and repair your credit with this virtual session offered by Truist Bank. Registration is required.
Jan. 17, 8:30 a.m.-4:30 p.m.: Mental Health First Aid (online): MHFA takes the fear and hesitation out of starting conversations about mental health and substance use by improving understanding and providing an action plan that teaches people to safely and responsibly identify and address issues as they arise. Registration is required.
Jan. 17, 11 a.m. -12 p.m.: Compassionate Response to Crisis (online): Every crisis situation presents its own unique challenges. In this session, explore how we can support individuals through the use of de-escalation techniques, listening skills, and access to 24/7 resources, while maintaining a lens of compassion. Registration is required.
Healthy Boundaries for Professionals (hybrid): In this 30-minute session, practice setting boundaries for the workplace and beyond. Prior to attending, watch the 30-minute video in PageUp that explores types of boundaries and skills to communicate our needs with others.

Join Hokie Wellness for this virtual program that will address the benefits of a healthy lunch and why it matters; four strategies for success; and provides helpful products and resources. Registration is required.
