Get ‘Hooked In’ to career development resources
RSVP for the first session on Nov. 19
From: Human Resources
My Career Stream is a new collection of resources developed by Human Resources’ Talent Development team to help faculty and staff look at their career path with intention and to reach their career goals and learning aspirations at Virginia Tech.
One of these resources, Hooked In, kicks off on Nov. 19 at 1 p.m. Hooked In is a series of one-hour Zoom conversations with university subject matter experts focused on how to develop and advance a career at Virginia Tech. The first session, titled “Unlocking Your Career Potential: A Beginner’s Guide to Career Pathing,” will provide participants with foundational tools to shape their career journey.
Register here to attend the first Hooked In session. The session is open to all employees; session content will be specifically targeted toward A/P faculty, staff, and supervisors.
Hooked In sessions will be held every other month. Topics and registration links will be announced in the VT News daily email and posted on the My Career Stream site on training.vt.edu.
My Career Stream resources work in tandem or even overlap with individual performance goals and other development activities to help employees stay on track with their annual goals and with where they want to be in their career and personal development.
In addition to Hooked In, check out Ask Otter, a cutting-edge aggregated search tool that – based on your input – searches learning opportunities in PageUp LMS, the TLOS Professional Development Network (PDN), and LinkedIn Learning to provide you a customized training list. Ask Otter is available to Virginia Tech employees with access to those systems.
While visiting training.vt.edu, check out the information available on individual, leadership, and team development opportunities.
