Between 40 and 65 years old and recreationally active? You might qualify for compensated study on pistachios

From: Human Nutrition, Foods, and Exercise

Researchers are looking for participants to enroll in a six-month research study (IRB #23-871). We are investigating the effects of pistachios consumption on inflammation and body composition among adults who exercise at least three times a week.

Eligible participants would be compensated $75 following the completion of the study.

To be eligible, participants should:

  • Have no nut allergy
  • Be 40 to 65 years of age
  • Exercise at least 3 days a week
  • Be non-smokers or former smokers (greater than 6 months of quitting)
  • Not be pregnant
  • Have no major medical complication(s)

The study involves a total of 3 visits to Virginia Tech, Blacksburg campus, over 6 months. Total time commitment is 6 hours. As an enrolled participants you would be required to take an overnight fast before each visit, during which you would undergo a blood draw and body composition scan.
