CyberFarm 2025: The commonwealth’s first CyberAg Datathon
From: Center for Advanced Innovation in Agriculture
The Center for Advanced Innovation in Agriculture (CAIA) and the Commonwealth Cyber Initiative Southwest Node (CCI-SW) will host the commonwealth’s First CyberAg Datathon: CyberFarm.
Whether you're a solo researcher or part of a team, this event promises to be a unique opportunity to harness data in the quest for smarter, safer agricultural and food system solutions in the Commonwealth of Virginia. Individuals from all Virginia universities or colleges are welcome to team up with Virginia Tech researchers to create cybersecurity solutions with real data. Teams will be able to generate actionable solutions for agricultural or food frameworks at any stage of cyber readiness or resilience (attack mitigation, attack detection, pre-attack, post-attack).
Submission details and sign-up forms can be found at: CyberFarm | CAIA | Virginia Tech (vt.edu). The deadline to express interest in participating is Nov. 15. After that date, all solo researchers will be partnered together and an informational webinar will be hosted for all participants.
All teams will have until Jan. 31, 2025, to submit their proposal. Two winning teams will be announced on Feb. 15, 2025, and provided funding ($10k each via a fund to their departments) to operate their project and complete their project by June 15, 2025. Both teams will present their cyber solution to the committee, and a final winner will then be selected and awarded a monetary prize of $5k.
