Save the date: Wicked Con is back on May 2

Proposals are currently being accepted for the conference

From: Human Resources

The Professional Development Community of Practice will be hosting the second annual “Influencing Change and Solving Wicked Problems” (or Wicked Con) professional development conference May 2, 8 a.m. – 3:30 p.m., at the North End Center in Blacksburg, Virginia. The conference will also offer virtual participation for faculty and staff based in other locations.

Sponsored by the Division of Human Resources Talent Development team and Technology-enhanced Online Strategies (TLOS), the conference is open to all Virginia Tech faculty and staff, especially those whose work encompasses the professional and leadership development of employees.

Additionally, the Community of Practice is looking for presenters to share tools, resources, and strategies in an engaging presentation or workshop during the 45-minute sessions. The sessions can be in-person, pre-recorded, or virtual.

This is an excellent opportunity to share insights with fellow Virginia Tech employees, network with like-minded professionals, and gain exposure to presenters’ work. We encourage you to submit a proposal for one or more sessions that address our themes: Emerging technologies, experimental learning, accessibility solutions, engagement strategies, influencing change, and leading from within.

Proposals are due by 5 p.m. on March 25. Acceptance notifications will be communicated on April 5.

For more information, and to submit your proposals, visit the Wicked Con page, which will be updated regularly over the coming weeks. Watch the daily email soon for conference registration information.
