Hokie Wellness to offer menopause education series

From: Hokie Wellness

Hokie Wellness will offer a virtual, eight-session program about all aspects of menopause on Tuesdays and Thursdays, beginning March 12 from 12:15 – 1 p.m.

The Menopause Series will be an open, frank, and educational discussion that will cover the experiences of perimenopause, menopause, and post-menopause. A variety of topics will be covered including, but not limited to, what to expect in each stage, symptoms, physical and mental health, and available treatments. The program is open to all employees. Come for yourself or to support others.

Each week will discuss a different topic. Registration is required for each week you wish to attend. Please note: When you register for a week, you are signing up to attend both the Tuesday and Thursday session.

  • March 12 and 14: Menopause: Hold On: Things Are About to Get Strange: An overview of the series and the topic.
  • March 19 and 21: Perimenopause: Information about when symptoms may begin, how to manage them, what to expect, and more.
  • March 26 and 28: Menopause: We will discuss symptoms and how to manage them, your physical and mental health, available treatments for symptoms, and how your loved ones and colleagues in the workplace can support you.
  • April 2 and 4: Post-Menopause and What’s Next? We will talk about what being post-menopausal means, the importance of taking care of your health, and how this time can be the beginning of something wonderful.
