Call for Nominations: XCaliber Award 2024

From: Technology-enhanced Learning and Online Strategies

The XCaliber Award — shorthand for exceptional, high-caliber contributions to technology-enriched learning activities — celebrates courses and significant projects that demonstrate exemplary use of technology and student-centered pedagogy.

This annual award is funded by the Office of the Provost and presented by Technology-enhanced Learning and Online Strategies (TLOS). Recipients receive a cash award and a commemorative plaque and are invited to showcase their award-winning activities at a special event.

The 2023 awardees from education, history, and visual arts integrated technology into their transdisciplinary course by

  • using projection mapping to explore the hidden histories of Virginia Tech.
  • leveraging creative technologies to uncover and present marginalized histories.
  • creating immersive informal learning experiences.

To apply for the XCaliber Award, the individual faculty member or team leader should complete the nomination packet and submit it to no later than Feb. 23, 2024. Questions about the application process can be directed to the same email address. Recipients will be notified in March 2024.
