Annual Securian optional term life premium adjustments

Each year, Securian optional term life premiums are updated to reflect new salary and age bracket data. Virginia Tech employees with a Securian optional life insurance policy that have had a salary adjustment or age bracket change within the last year will see a premium change on their Nov. 16, 2023, paycheck.

For reference, optional life insurance premiums are calculated based on the rate chart and can be found at the bottom of Securian's webpage. (Please note that the premium calculator reflects the monthly premium. To determine your per paycheck premium, please divide this number in half.)

If you would like to terminate or make changes to your coverage, please complete this form and submit to the secure Human Resources dropbox.

All employees are encouraged to review their paychecks to ensure the accuracy of their deductions. To view your paycheck, log into HokieSpa, navigate to Hokie Team, pay information, then select pay stub.
