Hokie Wellness offers a variety of programs in December. They include:

Dec. 1, 12:15-1 p.m.: Healthy for the Holidays (online): The holidays can be a tempting time to forego our healthy habits. Join this virtual program to learn tips on how to enjoy the holidays, maintain your healthy habits, and still enjoy the good food and treats. Registration is required.

Dec. 7, 12:15-1 p.m.: Healthy Nutrition on a Budget: Participants will learn how to make a healthy and affordable meal plan, save money at the grocery store, and decrease food waste. North End Center (room number will be provided). Registration is required.

Dec. 7, 12:15–1 p.m.: More Joy, Less Holiday Stress (online): The holidays ought to be a time of joy, but sometime the stresses and pressures of the holidays can be too much. Join Hokie Wellness for tips and resources so your holidays will be more enjoyable. Registration is required.

Dec. 11, 12:15-12:45 p.m.: Mental Health Resources Information Session (online): This program provides an overview of TimelyCare and EAP, two mental health resources available to Virginia Tech employees. Zoom link: https://virginiatech.zoom.us/j/82167037783  Registration is recommended but not required.

Dec. 12, 11:15 a.m.-12:15 p.m.: Self-Care Strategies (hybrid): Self-care is an ongoing and multi-dimensional practice. This program will provide tips for effective and sustainable self-care. Registration is required.

Dec. 13, 11:30 a.m.- 12 p.m.: Managing Debt (online): Managing debt is the best way to find financial freedom. This webinar will provide useful strategies to manage your personal debt situation and create a plan to pay off your debts using the debt snowball or avalanche methods. Registration is required.

Dec. 15, 12-1 p.m.: Weight Training for Life: The session will include a lecture component where the instructor will go over the benefits of weight training, followed by a hand-on demonstration of how to properly use weights to increase muscle, balance, endurance, and mobility. North End Center (room number will be provided). Registration is required.

Dec. 19, 12;1:15 p.m.: Take a Brain Break: Bring a colleague or friend and create your own DIY holiday ornament! Materials will be provided. North End Center (room number will be provided). Registration is required.
