D.C. Metro Area Pop-Up Pantry for graduate students launches

From: Virginia Tech D.C. Metro Black Caucus

As the holiday season approaches, our motto Ut Prosim (The I May Serve), becomes more meaningful and critical to our purpose as an institution. We want to prioritize student development and support both student mental and physical health, in addition to fostering an environment of empowerment. In line with this mission, we are introducing the inaugural D.C. Metro Area Pop-Up Pantry event for graduate students.

Visit the pantry

The pantry offers food, toiletries, and clothing free to all Virginia Tech graduate students in the D.C. metro area.

Event details

  • Date: Thursday, Nov. 2
  • Time: 2:30 - 5:30 PM
  • Location: Northern Virginia Center, Room 471

Pop-up events will occur monthly and be advertised to all D.C. metro area and virtual VT students through the weekly D.C. area graduate student newsletter, flyers and social media posts.

Donate to the pantry

To sustain this donation-based emergency pantry, it's imperative that we spread the word about this essential resource to students and employees. Please use the image and PDF at the bottom of the notice.

We are asking for donations of non-perishable food items, gently used winter clothing for adults and toiletries. For those of you outside of the D.C. area, or who wish to purchase specific items, you can donate through our Amazon Wishlist.

For local, in-person, donations, please bring items to a donation box at one of the following drop-off locations:

Virginia Tech Research Center - Arlington
900 N Glebe Road (2nd Floor near the mailroom)
Arlington, Virginia 22203
