Come to the Commonwealth of Virginia Campaign kickoff event Oct. 6

From: Human Resources

Virginia Tech’s annual Commonwealth of Virginia Campaign (CVC) will kick off on Oct. 3.

The CVC is a nonprofit workplace giving program that benefits hundreds of charities, large and small. The charities, supported through state employees’ generous donations, represent a diversity of missions, supporting communities and citizens across Virginia, the U.S., and the world.

As part of this year’s campaign, all faculty and staff are invited to join a charity partner open house on Oct. 6, from 2 – 4 p.m. in North End Center rooms 2410, 2420, and 2440. No registration is required.

Come learn about some of the charities that receive support from the campaign and learn how your donations further their service mission, as well as meet this year’s honorary chair, Lynsay Belshe, Virginia Tech’s vice president for auxiliary and business services, and other members of the campaign steering committee. Ringo the police patrol pony is planning to attend. Door prizes will be awarded and light refreshments will be served.

This year’s campaign has a goal of $400,000 and runs through Dec. 8. More information can be found on the CVC website
