Additional child care center enrollment opportunities for Blacksburg-area employees

Virginia Tech continues to work with local and state partners to address the ongoing concerns among faculty, staff, and students regarding the availability of affordable quality early care and education.
As part of these efforts, three more child care centers – in addition to continuing our relationship with Rainbow Riders – are providing enrollment opportunities to Virginia Tech faculty, staff, and students in Blacksburg and the surrounding area, including Giles County. Following are Virginia Tech’s child care partners:
- Children’s Nest
- Giles Health and Family
- Rainbow Riders Childcare Center
- Valley Interfaith Child Care Center
Parents seeking care for their children as of August 2023 are encouraged to contact these child care partners or visit the websites (linked above) and follow the enrollment instructions for that child care program. The directors of each program will offer enrollment opportunities directly to Virginia Tech families based on the date that enrollment information is finalized and received by the child care center.
The current Rainbow Riders list maintained by Hokie Wellness will be phased out starting this fall. Parents who are on the current Rainbow Riders list will maintain their prioritization until Dec. 31, 2023.
