During the week long program students built their own drone, worked with drone simulators, heard from industry professionals, and spent an afternoon at Aurora Flight Sciences in Manassas, Va. Staff from the Mid-Atlantic Aviation Partnership (MAAP) led students through the build process and helped students earn their FAA Safety and Trust Operators certification. The week ended with a trip to the Virginia Tech Drone Park in Blacksburg where students spent the day flying their drones.
