One of the key assignments for students taking the Computational Modeling & Data Analytics (CMDA) Capstone course is presenting an elevator pitch for their semester-long projects. In Fall 2022, Team We Didn't Start the Fire (sponsored by The Aerospace Corporation) took a creative approach to the assignment, writing and performing a song about their project, which focuses on predicting the spread of wildfires. Sung to the tune of Billy Joel's "We Didn't Start the Fire" by seniors Colin Ames, Dominic Berry, Kirt Boyd, and John DeCelle, the elevator pitch was given as an encore presentation to both Capstone sections during the last week of classes.
