Black alumni gather for summit in Arlington , video

Virginia Tech's fourth biennial Black Alumni Summit in August was a weekend of networking, workshops, and fun. The summit focused on building community among students and alumni. Current students and alumni attended to develop plans to strengthen the black alumni network and develop alumni programs to enhance student support and retention. University administrators provided updates on current student needs, new initiatives from Student Support Services and Student Affairs, and information on a new mentoring program through Career and Professional Development.
