Known for his contributions to the world of jazz, musician and composer Branford Marsalis sets his sights on classical music in “Well-Tempered,” a performance featuring the Chamber Orchestra of Philadelphia. The Center for the Arts at Virginia Tech presents the evening of baroque masterpieces on Saturday, Oct. 25, at 7:30 p.m.

The performance will be held in the Anne and Ellen Fife Theatre, located within the Moss Arts Center’s Street and Davis Performance Hall at 190 Alumni Mall.

Marsalis, a Grammy Award–winning saxophonist and Tony Award-nominated composer, joins the highly celebrated Chamber Orchestra of Philadelphia to perform pieces by Albinoni, J.S. Bach, Telemann, Corelli, and others.

Marsalis has performed and recorded with jazz giants including Miles Davis, Dizzy Gillespie, Herbie Hancock, and Sonny Rollins. He has also collaborated with such diverse artists as Sting, the Grateful Dead, and Bruce Hornsby.
