Center for the Arts at Virginia Tech launches website
The Center for the Arts at Virginia Tech has launched a new website.
The first feature topic highlighted on the website is the Center for the Arts construction project. The construction process is chronicled starting with the groundbreaking last June through videos, photos, architectural renderings, and articles. Until the building is completed in fall 2013, the homepage will feature a section called “Follow Our Progress,” where the phases of construction will be announced.
The Vocal Arts and Music Festival, which is presented by the Center for the Arts in partnership with International Vocal Arts Institute (IVAI) founders Joan Dornemann and Paul Nadler of the Metropolitan Opera, is featured on the homepage under “What’s Coming Up?” and in the Vocal Arts and Music Festival tab. The Vocal Arts and Music Festival unites opera’s rising stars and legendary coaches with outstanding instrumentalists for two weeks of insightful masterclasses and world-class performances, June 18-July 1. Media sponsors for the festival are Virginia Living Magazine and WDBJ7.
Through the homepage under “Naming Opportunities,” visitors can select a feature or section of the building to name in honor of a loved one or to create a legacy for future generations of their families. More information about naming opportunities can also be obtained by contacting Kylie Johnson, director of development for the arts, at (540) 231-3751.
The Center for the Arts will be posting a number of administrative and professional faculty and staff positions before the center opens. These positions will be announced both on the careers tab of the center’s website and on the Virginia Tech careers site. Currently, the center is interviewing four candidates for the director position of the newly formed Institute for Creativity, Arts, and Technology, a university-level research institution that is administered through the Center for the Arts.
