Best part of being a VMCVM student…
The best part is how many amazing students and faculty members I have been able to meet and learn from.
The moment I knew I wanted to be a veterinarian/public health professional was…
I always wanted to be a veterinarian, but my experiences in college were what confirmed that veterinary medicine was my calling. One of my most memorable experiences in college was working in a research project studying genes that influence twin births in sheep. I also had the life-changing opportunity of working alongside a small animal veterinary surgeon, which further strengthened my love for this profession.
My hidden talent...
Being able to put myself in others' shoes and understand their point of view.
A person who has inspired me...
My mom. I have never met a more positive and hard-working person in my life. I try to be more like her sometimes.
Biggest misconception about being a veterinarian/public health student…
That we're anti-social or "nerdy." I have met so many outgoing and fun people in vet med.
If I had a superpower, it would be...
The ability to never get tired (but still be able to fall asleep).
My no-fail, go-for-it motivational song...
PFKNR by Bad Bunny
The course project/study you're most excited about…
I'm very excited to take Small Animal Surgical Diseases and go more in-depth in the area of vet med that I'm most interested in.
What excites me the most about the future of my industry...
I feel that vet med is becoming more and more important as the years go by, therefore I'm excited to how the industry keeps evolving and what new advances will come up in the future.
Favorite way to end the day...
Playing video games online with my cousin or just hanging out with my friends after we're done studying.
Top of my bucket list...
To visit all 7 continents.
How many pets/animals live at home? Can you tell us about them?
I have three cats back home named Ben, Berlin and Miko. Ben is a chill cat who loves to snuggle all the time, Berlin is more of a loner who loves a 10-second cuddle session every now and then, and Miko, the girl, is a rascal who will steal food if you're not looking, but she's a sweetheart so it's hard to stay mad at her.
