Crime alert: Burglary

On October 2, 2026, the Virginia Tech Police Department received a report of a burglary. The incident occurred at Lane Stadium (185 Beamer Way) in the evening hours of October 2, 2026, a male subject entered a concession stand storage area to steal alcoholic beverages. An employee surprised the suspect who took two beers from a pallet and ran past the employee. The suspect assaulted the employee as he fled the scene. The suspect was last seen in the lower concourse area of the east stands in Lane Stadium. The suspect is described as a black male with light skin, five foot nine to six feet tall, with a medium afro, wearing a maroon shirt. 

As reported, this incident meets the elements of Assault and Battery as defined in Virginia Code 18.2-57, and Burglary as defined in Virginia Code 18.2-91 entering dwelling house, etc., with intent to commit larceny, assault and battery or other felony.
