VMCVM Pet Spotlight: Juno
What's your name, and do you think it's as awesome as you are?
Juno, who enjoys being a couch potato or going on adventures with mom.
Who is your human and what is their role at the veterinary college?
My human is Kirsten Masters who is a dual-degree Ph.D./DVM student starting her second year of the DVM program.
What kind of critter are you, and what makes your breed (or mix) totally pawsome?
I’m called the good dog breed. I’m a mix of everything that just makes the best dog out there.
How many candles are on your birthday cake this year — or are you keeping that a secret?
I’ll be turning 10 in December.
Where did you find your human, and what made you pick them?
I was a rescue pup from my mom’s hometown. My favorite moments growing up were when mom was visiting from college and we got to go outside and play with my siblings for hours.
How would you describe yourself: a snugglebug, a wild child, or the boss of the house?
I’m just a big snugglebug with my humans but don’t mistake my extra fluff for laziness. I love walks and can go for miles.
What’s your signature move to get attention — puppy eyes, zoomies, or something else?
I am a master of moving my ears and putting them in just the right spot to make everyone’s heart melt.
Do you have a favorite toy that you’d fight a dragon to keep?
I don’t have any special toys but I do love me a good tennis ball. Not sure if I would fight a dragon for it though.
What’s your go-to snack, and how do you convince your human to hand it over? (Do you have a secret trick?)
I love my fruits and veggies. Usually if I stare at mom long enough she will just stare at me. Sometimes when mom is gone dad and I have a steak dinner together.
What’s the most epic adventure you’ve had with your human?
Definitely their wedding day! I think it was supposed to be about them but I was definitely the center of attention.
What’s something you did that left your human totally speechless — good or bad?
If I am left out of my kennel and alone, I'm known to make trash confetti all through the house.
What’s your best “I’m too cute to handle” pose for the camera?
Wrapped up in a towel or blanket with the biggest puppy dog eyes and my little teeth showing.
Describe a day in your fabulous life. Do you work hard or hardly work?
The best day would be a nice long walk with a pup cup afterwards, then coming home to snuggle all day on the couch.
Do you have any rituals with your human, like belly rub o’clock or snack time at sundown?
Dinner time is 5 p.m/ with begging starting around 3 p.m. We also have a strict bedtime of 10 p.m. and I make sure mom follows it.
What’s your relationship status with other animals? BFFs, frenemies, or “it’s complicated”?
I have two cat siblings who love to snuggle with me though they can sometimes hog my beds.
Do you have any party tricks that wow the crowd?
My adorable personality is enough to charm anyone.
If you could have a superpower, what would it be?
To convince my humans that I need a pup cup every day.
What’s one thing your human should learn from you?
How to relax and be the most chill pup around.
What’s the best thing about being your human’s sidekick?
I’ve watched my mom accomplish so much already and she always makes sure I’m right by her side for everything. I love even the small adventures we take together.
