Todd Lowe named co-editor-in-chief of SAE International Journal of Aerospace
Todd Lowe, professor of aerospace and ocean engineering at Virginia Tech, has been named co-editor-in-chief of the SAE International Journal of Aerospace.
The Journal of Aerospace publishes peer-reviewed, cutting-edge engineering research and is an essential resource for anyone in industry, academia, government, and research organizations trying to understand the latest progress in aerospace engineering. It covers both mature and emerging technologies and includes technical articles on current technology, archival-quality historic findings, and research articles on the future of aerospace engineering.
Lowe will be working alongside current editor-in-chief Ravi Rajamani to strengthen the journal’s position as a bridge between academic research and industry practice.

This journal forms a bridge between research-generated knowledge and the very standards that guide aerospace technology adoption. ”
Lowe serves as co-director of the Advanced Propulsion and Power Laboratory while also leading major industry-facing research initiatives, including the Pratt & Whitney Center of Excellence, and participating in the Rolls-Royce University Technology Center at Virginia Tech. His research is focused on advancing aerospace propulsion, fluid dynamics, and diagnostic technologies through sustained leadership of large-scale, externally funded research programs in collaboration with government and industry.
Lowe has co-authored more than 250 publications and is co-inventor on eight U.S. utility patents in areas spanning advanced diagnostics, turbulent flows, propulsion systems, and signal processing. He is a recipient of the SAE International Ralph R. Teetor Educator Award, a fellow of ASME and the Royal Aeronautical Society, and an associate fellow of AIAA.
