Two listening sessions have been scheduled for members of the Presidential Search Committee to receive input from students, faculty, and staff before exams conclude and spring commencement activities begin.

These in-person sessions will allow members of the university community to share their insights on the characteristics they seek in the next Virginia Tech president.

For students
On Reading Day, this Thursday, May 7 at 6:30 p.m., students are encouraged to attend a listening session in Newman Library, Classroom 101S (next to the Goodall Room). John Rocovich, rector of the Board of Visitors, Thomas Freely, undergraduate student representative to the board, and Katie Gregg, the board's graduate/professional student representative, will attend the listening session. Scheduled to occur near and before the start of Cheesy Nights, students can attend the session and then pick up a grilled cheese sandwich before continuing their preparations for final exams.

For faculty and staff
Faculty and staff are invited to attend a listening session on Monday, May 11, at 4 p.m. in Latham Ballroom at the Inn at Virginia Tech. Justin Lemkul, faculty representative to the board, and Marlena Lester, A/P faculty representative to the board, and Amber Hagan, staff representative to the board, will join Rocovich for this session.

Additional listening sessions will be scheduled in the coming weeks. Keep watching Virginia Tech News and the Daily Email for more information.

A search for Virginia Tech's 17th president began in April when President Tim Sands announced that he would be stepping down once a successor is in place.
