Presidential search website launches
Virginia Tech has launched a presidential search website to keep members of the Virginia Tech community informed of the latest updates on the search for the next president of the university.
This site can be found at search.president.vt.edu, and the university community is encouraged to check frequently for updates.
Virginia Tech has retained the firm Isaacson Miller to aid the university in the search. A link is provided on the search website to enable members of the community to submit nominations of potential candidates or for individuals to express their interest in the position directly to the search firm.
Information currently posted on the website includes the membership of the search committee, summaries of topics discussed during early listening sessions, and an initial leadership profile. A survey will be posted on the website soon to provide another avenue through which the university community and broader public can contribute their suggestions about characteristics that will best serve the university in the next president.
The leadership profile will be refined based on those listening sessions, surveys, and other feedback collected.
The website will also carry a wide range of news and other information as it becomes available.
The search committee is chaired by Nancy Dye, a member of the Virginia Tech Board of Visitors, and is supported and staffed by Kim O’Rourke, vice president for policy and governance.
The search committee may be reached by email at pressearch@vt.edu and by phone at 540-231-6232.
