The Virginia Tech Board of Visitors will hold its quarterly board meeting on Tuesday, June 2, at 1:15 p.m. in 338 Hitt Hall, 1385 Perry St. on the Blacksburg campus. Note that all times are approximate; meetings will begin when the prior meeting ends.

On Monday, June 1, members of the Board of Visitors will visit the Mitchell Hall construction site from 1 to 2 p.m. This is an active construction site located between Hancock Hall and Lavery Hall.

Also on Monday, the Executive Committee will meet in closed session at noon in 344 Hitt Hall.

On Tuesday, committee chairs will meet in open session at 7:45 a.m. at Forge at The Inn at Virginia Tech and Skelton Conference Center, 901 Prices Fork Road in Blacksburg. Also on Tuesday, the Nominating Committee will meet in open session at approximately noon in 344 Hitt Hall, and the Presidential Search Committee (which includes the full board) will meet in open, then closed, session at approximately 3 p.m. in 338 Hitt Hall.

The following committee meetings will be held in 338 Hitt Hall at the following times and unless otherwise noted.

  • On Monday, the Academic, Research, and Student Affairs Committee will meet in closed session beginning at approximately 9 a.m. and immediately followed by open session. At approximately 10:30 a.m., the committee will meet jointly with the Finance and Resource Management Committee in closed session, followed by open session.
  • On Monday, the Buildings and Grounds Committee will meet jointly with the Finance and Resource Management Committee in open session at approximately 11:30 a.m. The committee will meet in open session at approximately 2 p.m., following the tour of Mitchell Hall.
  • On Monday, the Athletics Committee will meet in open session beginning at approximately 3 p.m. The committee will meet jointly with the Finance and Resource Management Committee in open session at approximately 3:45 p.m.
  • On Monday, the Governance and Administration Committee will meet at approximately 4:15 p.m. in open session.
  • On Tuesday, the Finance and Resource Management Committee will meet at approximately 9 a.m. in open session.
  • On Tuesday, the Compliance Audit and Risk Committee will meet at approximately 10:30 a.m. in open session.

During the two-day meeting, board members will consider a resolution for a capital construction project to build two new residence halls and a resolution to affiliate with a new university-related corporation in support of intercollegiate athletics.

Those attending the meeting in person will need to present a Virginia Tech Hokie Passport or government-issued photo ID, and all bags are subject to search. Please allow extra time to accommodate these measures. Public comment will not be received during the two-day meeting.
