Board of Visitors to meet April 13-14 in Blacksburg
The Virginia Tech Board of Visitors will hold its quarterly board meeting on Tuesday, April 14, at 1:15 p.m. in Latham Ballroom at The Inn at Virginia Tech and Skelton Conference Center, 901 Prices Fork Road in Blacksburg.
On Monday, April 13, from approximately noon to 1 p.m., board members will lunch with undergraduate and graduate/professional students representing a variety of groups, including Presidential Scholars, student veterans, first-generation and transfer students, student-athletes, and fraternities and sororities.
On Tuesday, April 14, the chairs of all standing board committees will meet in open session at 7:30 a.m., in Forge (formerly known as the Old Guard Room) at The Inn at Virginia Tech.
The following committee meetings will be held in Latham Ballroom at the following times (please note that all times are approximate; meetings will begin when the prior meeting ends):
- On Monday, the Academic, Research, and Student Affairs Committee will meet in closed session beginning at approximately 3:15 p.m. and immediately followed by open session. At approximately 4:45 p.m., the Academic, Research, and Student Affairs Committee will meet with Finance and Resource Management in joint open session.
- On Monday, the Athletics Committee will meet in open session beginning at approximately 10:30 a.m.
- On Monday, the Buildings and Grounds Committee will meet in open session beginning at approximately 9 a.m. On Tuesday, the Buildings and Grounds and Finance and Resource Management committees will meet jointly in closed session, followed by open session beginning at approximately 8:30 a.m.
- On Monday, the Compliance, Audit, and Risk Committee will meet at approximately 1:30 p.m. in closed session and immediately followed by open session.
- On Tuesday, the Finance and Resource Management Committee will meet at approximately 9:15 a.m. in open session, followed by closed session. On Monday at approximately 4:45 p.m., the Finance and Resource Management Committee will meet with the Academic, Research, and Student Affairs Committee in joint open session. On Tuesday, the Finance and Resource Management and Buildings and Grounds committees will meet jointly in closed session, followed by open session beginning at approximately 8:30 a.m.
- The Governance and Administration Committee will not meet during the two-day meeting.
During the two-day meeting, board members will consider a resolution on 2026-27 tuition and fee rates. The board also will receive a design preview and review for two new 600-bed residence halls; a design preview for the Virginia-Maryland College of Veterinary Medicine Teaching Hospital renovation and expansion; a design preview of a new Virginia Tech Rescue Squad facility; and a design preview of the Eastern Shore Agricultural Research and Extension Center improvements.
