Degree: DVM Class of 2029, Equine Track
Hometown: Pottstown, Pennsylvania

My undergraduate was in…
B.S. in veterinary and biomedical sciences, with a minor in equine science from Penn State!

Best part of being a VMCVM student…
The amazing support we get from our faculty and staff! They truly understand that everyone is coming into vet school with a different background and skill set and want to help us succeed!

The moment I knew I wanted to be a veterinarian/public health professional was…
I knew I wanted to be a veterinarian from a very young age, which later earned me the nickname Doc McStuffins from my mom. What really solidified it for me as I got older was working with horses. Seeing how the human-horse bond can make such a positive impact on people's lives made me want to work even harder to have the opportunity to help them someday.

My hidden talent...
I love to sing! More often than not, you'll find me jamming out to some musical theater soundtrack!

A person who has inspired me…
My mom has always really inspired me and made me want to work harder. Being a first-generation student, it means the world to me that I have someone like her in my corner who's always ready to support me.

Biggest misconception about being a veterinarian/public health student…
I think the biggest misconception is that you have to come out of vet school and work in a small animal general practice. There are so many different paths within the veterinary field!

If I had a superpower, it would be…
To be able to speak to any animal at will! Funnily enough, I don’t want to use it to be like Dr. Dolittle; I just think it would be funny to hear what squirrels and fish talk about.

My no-fail, go-for-it motivational song…
“Whatcha Want” by Lawrence

What excites me the most about the future of my industry...
I'm so excited to see the field become increasingly more diverse every year! Growing up, it was often hard to imagine myself as a veterinarian due to the lack of representation. I am so happy that soon, I'll be able to act as a mentor and role model to the next generation of doctors!

Favorite way to end the day…
A good YouTube video, baking, and cuddling up with my cat!

Top of my bucket list...
To go to Australia!

How many pets/animals live at home? Can you tell us about them?
I have my cat Percy here with me at school. I always thought I was a dog person until I met him. The joke's on me because he acts just like one; he loves playing fetch!
