Dear Virginia Tech Community,

Our commitment to community and care continues to guide our efforts to foster a campus environment where all individuals can learn, work, and live free from sexual harassment and violence. Each year, the Title IX Annual Report serves as a reflection of that commitment– providing transparency, accountability, and insight into how we respond to and prevent incidents of sexual harassment and misconduct.

The 2024-25 report highlights the continued efforts of the Office for Civil Rights Compliance and Prevention Education to respond to reports of sexual harassment, sexual assault, stalking, and intimate partner violence. The data contained in this report helps us identify trends, evaluate the effectiveness of our prevention initiatives, and refine our practices to align with evidence-based standards and federal requirements.

Our approach continues to be guided by best practices and evidence-based strategies that emphasize prevention, education, and holistic support. From tailored supportive measures and trauma-sensitive responses to cross-campus collaboration and early intervention efforts, our goal is to ensure that every Hokie feels seen, supported, and safe.

I am deeply honored to serve as Virginia Tech’s Title IX coordinator. The progress we make is the result of our shared commitment — from faculty and staff to students and campus partners — each playing a vital role in creating a safe environment.

All the best,

Angela Catena,
Director of Title IX Compliance/Title IX Coordinator
