Student entrepreneurs launch AI-powered greeting card startup, P.S.
Their startup uses generative AI to create personalized cards
A team of Virginia Tech student entrepreneurs is reinventing the way we send greeting cards.
Their startup, P.S. (Personalize Send), uses generative AI to create hyper-personalized greeting cards in under a minute, giving consumers a faster, more meaningful, and creative way to connect with loved ones. The startup has already seen traction, with hundreds of paid members, repeat orders, and over 150% Shopify growth in the last month.
The company was founded by CEO Ian Haddad, a senior studying management consulting and analytics, and Theo Wallace, P.S.’ CTO and a senior studying computer science. The team also includes Halle Keefer (Chief Content Officer), Michael Rihani ‘08 (investor and advisor), two engineers, and two marketers helping the company scale.
The idea for P.S. was sparked during a coffee chat when Haddad and Rihani recognized that the $20 billion greeting card industry had not meaningfully innovated in over a century. They saw an opportunity to combine convenience with creativity, leveraging AI to solve common consumer pain points such as limited card selection, wasted back-of-card space, and the lack of personalization.
“Traditional greeting cards can feel generic and outdated,” said Haddad. “With P.S., we’re using AI to give every customer the ability to create a card that’s personal, beautiful, and delivered fast.”
P.S. cards feature customized text, images, and designs, along with unique messages printed on the back instead of a price tag — transforming the card into a keepsake that feels like a gift. The platform also provides reminders, recommendations, and tracked shipping for added convenience.
Early customers have embraced the concept, driving strong engagement across Instagram and TikTok , where the team shares behind-the-scenes videos about their journey.
“As alumni, it’s exciting to support the next generation of Hokie entrepreneurs,” said Rihani. “P.S. is combining creativity, technology, and business insight to transform an industry.”
With a market ready for disruption and generative AI fueling scalable creativity, Haddad says P.S. aims to become the “Netflix of greeting cards,” reshaping the way people celebrate special moments.
